Finally, someone has stepped down from the Supreme Court. Sandra Day O'Conner, first female justice, and achor of a shaky majority for abortion rights.
President Bush pledged to name a successor quickly as the costliest confirmation battle in history took shape. I sure hope he can get someone in soon. I'm glad she's gone. Some of her rulings go against everything I stand for, especially her stance on not banning partial birth abortion. Not to say that everything she did was wrong. Last week, in a dissent to a 5-4 ruling that let local governments take personal property to build malls and other businesses, she wrote that the majority had unwisely handed more power to the powerful. This we do agree on.
Nevertheless because of her opions concerning human I am glad she is retired. Sandra, have a nice life.
